What is recorded here

Redington (1911-12, 183) recorded 'a rough granite boulder 2ft. [c. 0.6m] by 1ft. 2in. [c. 0.36m]', which was built into the angle of a wall near Kilcornan House (GA095-056001-). There was a round basin-shaped hole 1ft. [c. 0.3m] broad and 6in. [c.0.15m] deep, rudely hollowed out' of it. It was similar to a font or holy water stoup in 'Killeely old Church' (GA103-131003-), which was also cut in a rough granite boulder (ibid., 67). Not located. The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
