In gently undulating grassland. Described in 1937 as 'St. Patrick's Chair. Granite' (Topgr. Files, NMI) but marked on 3rd ed. of OS 6-inch map (1946) as 'Site of', suggesting that nothing of it then remained. According to local tradition, the stone was called 'St Patrick's Bowl', was trough-like in appearance, and contained water. No visible surface trace survives; possibly a bullaun. St Patrick's Well (GA087-088----) lies 500m to NNW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
