In pastureland. A list of 'Monumental stones between Aughrim and Killagh' was forwarded to the National Museum of Ireland in 1937 by Mr. J.R. Wade (NMI Topgr. Files). Most proved to be erratics and of no archaeological significance. Included on the list, numbered 79, was a 'Cist found and destroyed in 1933 or 1934.' On inspection in 1985 a low mound (3m N-S; 2.2m E-W; H 0.2m) was visible. According to local information, one body, accompanied by candlesticks, was buried here below a large slab. It was believed that the body might be that of a priest, who was re-interred in Kilconnell Abbey (GA086-001----).
