What is recorded here

In undulating .marshy grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (47m N-S, 45m E-W) defined by an inner bank, intervening fosse and possible outer bank. The inner bank is present from NNE to ESE; elsewhere a scarp, overlain by a field boundary from WSW to WNW, forms the enclosing element. Traces of a possible outer bank are visible from S through W to WNW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
