In gently undulating grassland, formerly part of the demesne land of Castlegar House, Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as a penannular tree-planted enclosure (D c. 30m) encircling a holy well (GA061-023001-). What survives is a poorly preserved roughly circular bivallate enclosure (D c. 20m max.) defined by a low scarp/bank and a wide flat-bottomed external fosse (Wth 2m). The outer bank (H 0.4m max.) is visible from NNW through E to S. A number of small gaps are present but all appear to be modern. Possibly a landscape feature but more likely to be an enclosure associated with the holy well. (Harbison 1975, 100)
