What is recorded here

On top of a slight rise. Marked on 1st ed. of OS 6-inch map as an irregular tree-planted enclosure and on 3rd ed. (1932) as an irregular wall curving from N through E to S. No visible surface trace survives. However, its line can be followed from S through to W to N by a curving scarp indicating the former presence of a subcircular enclosure (D c. 50m). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
