What is recorded here

In gently undulating pastureland; formerly demesne land. One of 14 similar features marked on the OS 6-inch maps (see also GA059-064---- to GA059-064011- and GA059-064013-). This example is shown on the 1838 edition of the OS 6-inch map as a small roughly oval enclosed tree copse (c. 28m NW-SE; 19m NE-SW). Not visited. It was probably a landscape feature associated with the demesne. Aerial photography (https://binged.it/2aukjCu last accessed 2 August 2016) dating to May 2012 indicates that the trees have been cleared away. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 2 August 2016
