Within W half of a ringfort (GA057-058----). This souterrain consists of a rectangular hollow (L 6.8m, Wth 2.9m), running E-W, which leads to an inaccessible drystone-built passage (L 1.5m) at W end. From a small opening under a displaced roof lintel, it appears that W end of the passage has collapsed.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
