In low-lying grassland. Known locally as a 'cave', its exact location is still pointed out though no definite surface features survive. According to local information, it was used as a hiding place from the 'Black and Tans' and could accommodate '30 people' The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
