On a small headland at S end of a sandy beach. Known locally as Horn graveyard, it consists of an irregularly shaped walled graveyard (E-W 80m, N-S 40m max.) within which many small set boulders are visible. A number of 20th-C graves are present in E half, marked by cement crosses and modern headstones decorated with sea shells. This CBG also extends on to OS 6-inch sheet 62 (SMR GA062-002----). A midden (GA049-023002-) is associated with it. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
