What is recorded here

At E end of Doon Hill close to beach. Site of a medieval parish church. When visited by OS in 1838 only 'a fragment of the S sidewall... seven feet [2.13m] high and twenty feet [12.8m] long' survived (O'Flanagan 1927a, Vol. 3, 97, 101). No visible surface trace survives. A chapel (GA049-015001-) lies c. 170m to ESE. (Killanin 1954, 93) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'.
