Within the former demesne of Ballinlass House. Marked on OS 6-inch maps as a circular enclosure planted with trees (D c. 30m). All that survives is an arc of a round-topped earthen bank (Wth 1m, H 0.7m) at S: a band of darker vegetation outside it may indicate the line of a fosse. Possibly a landscape feature or a landscaped ringfort.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
