What is recorded here

On a ridge in rolling farmland liable to flooding, the Grange River flows to E. In existence in 1574 when 'Castle moell' was in the possession of 'Edmund McMelaghlin' (Nolan 1901b, 117). No visible surface trace survives. Some cut-stone fragments from it are incorporated into the adjoining field walls.
