What is recorded here

In level pastureland. Very poorly preserved rectangular church (E-W; L 6.65m, Wth 3.95m) situated within W half of a subrectangular platform (E-W 34.3m, N-S 28.6m) defined by a low scarp. Only the lower courses of E and S walls of church survive with a gap at SE corner. The W wall is grassed over and only intermittent inner wall-footings of N wall are visible. No architectural features survive. A graveyard lies immediately to S, and burials are indicated by small set field stones. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
