Centrally placed within the interior of a ringfort (GA042-209----). According to the landowner, a 'cave' was discovered here during land reclamation but was subsequently sealed up by replacing the disturbed capstone. All that is visible is a faint linear hollow (L c. 11m) ruining NW-SE.
The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999).
