What is recorded here

On S slopes of a slight ridge. A small poorly preserved and partially overgrown circular area (D 6.8m) defined by a grassed-over stony bank (Wth 3.2m at S). Traces of stone revetment are visible. Field clearance has been dumped in the interior. Possibly a house but the interior appears to be lower than the exterior and no entrance was apparent. An enclosure (GA042-191----) lies 90m to SSW. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
