In existence in 1574 when it was in the possession of 'Walter Burke' (Nolan 1901b, 118). In his survey of the castles of the barony of Clare, Nolan (1901a, 41) remarks that 'all recollections of this castle appear to have vanished from the district'. Unlocated.
