Associated with Ross Errilly Friary (GA041-047----). Constructed c. 1572 to provide access to the friary across bogland (Gwynn and Hadcock 1970, 258). What is visible is a raised causeway (L c. 400m) which approaches the friary from S. It is straddled by a gateway (GA041-047001-). (Cochrane 1901, 335-6; Mooney 1955, 164)
