What is recorded here

In an area of fertile pasture on S side of the island of Inchiquin, Lough Corrib. Poorly preserved subcircular enclosure (N-S c. 30m) which according to the landowner was defined by a drystone wall. Subsequently removed by the landowner a number of years ago and a modern drystone wall was built upon its line. The interior, now used as a garden, once contained a CBG (GA041-033001-). The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. 1 - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
