What is recorded here

On the summit of a hill in undulating pastureland. Subcircular rath (E-W 40m; N-S 38m), in fair condition, defined by a scarp now overlain by a modern field wall. There is a local tradition of a souterrain in the interior, no visible trace of which survives. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
