In the northern of the two portions which make up Ballinafad Lough. Kinahan (1872, 12) recorded that 'when the water is low, a circle of stones, with a small island near its centre, is visible' and considered it to be the remains of 'some artificial structure, probably either a crannog or lake stone-dwelling'. Nothing visible at time of visit.
