On a prominent, but natural, mound in the former demesne of Clifden Castle. Squat granite boulder (H 0.9m), oblong in plan and aligned N-S. Possibly a genuine antiquity but the four other 'standing stones' (see GA035-028-----GA035-031----), ranged along both sides of the venue leading to the mansion, are probably 19th-C ornamental features. It is incorrectly located on the RMP map (1997).
