What is recorded here

Spanning a small westerly flowing stream that feeds into Salt Lake. According to local information (pers. comm. T. Robinson 1986), this fine old bridge (H 2m; Wth 3.8m; L 6m) was the pre-Nimmo road or bridle path into Clifden from the S. It consists of a segmented single-arch bridge constructed of mortared masonry. The arch on the W side is complete but that on the E side has been re-enforced with concrete and iron girders. The surface of the bridge is now grass covered. Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 13 February 2017
