What is recorded here

Within a ringfort (GA030-120----). An irregularly shaped area (NW-SE c. 45m, NE-SW c. 20m) defined from NW through N to E by the inner bank of the ringfort, and elsewhere by the td. boundary wall. Within the interior, there is a dense concentration of small set stones aligned N-S; it seems likely that these were robbed from th enclosing cashel-like wall. Many larger slabs cover individual graves. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'. Compiled by Olive Alcock, Kathy de hÓra and Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1999). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
