In low-lying marshy ground prone to flooding. Macalister et al. (1914, 147-51) investigated this crannog (D c. 44.5m, H 1.2m) and described it as 'an insignificant circular mound, shaped like an inverted saucer, with a shallow ditch around it'. Subsequent excavations revealed that it was constructed of piles infilled with stone, peat and marl, with a stone-lined jetty (L 3m) at N. Finds included bronze, iron, wooden and stone artifacts, as well as numerous animal bones, suggesting occupation in both the Early Historic and Medieval periods. No visible surface trace survives.
