What is recorded here

Petrie (1972, 253) refers to '3 cahers called Dunderg, Dunmoyle and Dungibbon...at Streamstown...all situated on lofty rocks' Only one of these, Dunderg (GA022-070----), survives but the sites of the other two appear to have been situated c. 120-150m to N and NNE of it. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
