What is recorded here

On a low hillock overlooking the inner end of Cleggan Bay to W. The monument, partly incorporated in a field wall, consists of a polygonal chamber (L c. 1.6m, Wth c. 1. 1m) open to NE and covered by a single roofstone. The chamber area has been dug out and the closing stone at SW may not be an original feature. The tomb is contained in a mound (6.5m by 5.5m). The remains are insufficient to permit classification. See also GA022-006----. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. I - West Galway'. Compiled by Paul Gosling (Dublin: Stationery Office, 1993). Date of upload: 05 August 2010
