What is recorded here

Recorded by Fisher (2014, 218, no. 44, Fig. 7.7), this incomplete cross-slab (H 0.28m; Wth 0.18m; T 0.02m) of garnet mica-schist was found on top of the S wall of the church enclosure (GA021-026021-) on High Island. An irregular slab, it is undecorated. A deep notch in the surviving edge suggests that it was a cruciform type of cross-slab. It is now in the care of the OPW (Athenry depot, Co. Galway, see GA084-151025-). Compiled by: Olive Alcock Date of upload: 20 November 2015
