This cross-slab was found lying face-down in the lowermost course of masonry within the altar in the church (GA021-026014-) on High Island (Scally 2014, 65-7). Described by Fisher et al. (2014, 212, no. 23, Fig. 7.5) as a rectilinear slab of garnet mica-schist (H 0.67m; Wth 0.53m; T 0.09m), which was broken across obliquely at the left foot. One face is filled with a grooved linear cross with forked terminals, similar to that on the N face of the cross-slab (GA021-026007-) near the holy well (GA021-026007-). It was not possible to determine if the lower terminal had been carved due to damage to the slab by flaking. This cross-slab is now in the care of the OPW (Athenry depot, Co. Galway, see GA084-151019-).
