This is one of two possible clochans (see also GA021-026018-) noted on Herity’s (1977, 58, Fig. 2, H) plan of the monastic remains on High Island. The outlines of low roughly circular mounds of rubble against the internal wall-face of the ecclesiastical enclosure (GA021-026022-) suggested to Scally (2014, 43) that there were three clochans in this area (see also GA021-026091-) and visitors to the island also remembered at least three here.
