What is recorded here

On a gentle N-facing slope in grassland. Poorly preserved subcircular rath (N-S 41m, E-W 39m) defined by two banks and an intervening fosse. The fosse and outer bank are present from SW through W to NE. A large quarry has encroached upon the enclosing elements at SW. (Neary 1914, 112, no. 41) The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
