What is recorded here

On E-facing slope of a low hill in undulating grassland overlooking a turlough to SE. Subcircular rath (N-S 37.5m, E-W 33m), in fair condition, defined by two earthen banks and an intervening fosse. There is a possible entrance (Wth 5m) at E. A subrectangular hollow in SW section of the interior appears modern. Earthen banks radiating from the monument at SE and S may be associated. The above description is derived from the published 'Archaeological Inventory of County Galway Vol. II - North Galway'.
