What is recorded here

Excavations in 1979 revealed an iron-working area. A bronze penannular brooch of 7th century date was recovered at the site (Anon 1900, 187, 193; O'Reilly 1901, 135, 150, 156-157; Turner 1983, 27-28, O'Brien 1987, 87, 88: O'Brien 1988, 515). Compiled by: Geraldine Stout and Padraig Clancy Revised upload on: 28 July 2018

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
