What is recorded here

During road widening operations in 1979 two pit burials were truncated. They were located S of Carrickgollogan hill close to the County Wicklow border. Grave 1 was a burial contained in an inverted cordoned urn and contained the remains of a young adult. Grave 2 was a cordoned urn that contained the remains of two individuals, an adult and a juvenile. Cremated bone from the cordoned urn revealed a calibrated date of 1736-1531 BC at 95% probality. Bone from the undecorated urn had a calibrated date of 1684-1523 at 95% (Cahill, M. & Sikora, M. 2011, 161-167). Compiled by: 11 February 2013 Date of upload: 11 February 2013
