What is recorded here

The site is situated on the upper W slopes of Rathmichael Hill. It is shown as a hachured enclosure on the 1843 and 1937 OS 6-inch maps and marked as 'beanna fort' on a sketch map accompanying the OS Memoranda (O'Flanagan 1927, 16, 40). Described by Healy (1975, 1-19) as a ring feature (ext. diam. c. 28m) defined by a bank of stones with a level interior. A bungalow and gardens occupy the site. Compiled by: Geraldine Stout and Padraig Clancy. Revised upload on: 15 April 2018.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
