Ball (1906, 63) records the existence of a church on Kilmashogue, all traces of which had disappeared by the early 20th century (Joyce 1912, 18). A cross-slab (DU025-066002) from this site is held in the chapel of the College of St. Columba (ÓhÉailidhe & Prendergast).

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
