What is recorded here

Situated on the W facing slope of Mountpeliar. An aerial photograph taken in 1963 (CUCAP, AIG 75) shows traces of a roughly circular enclosure (diam. c. 60m) defined by a low earthen bank with a field boundary cut across the eastern half of the site. It has since been planted with trees leaving no visible trace above ground (Healy 1961, 124). Compiled by: Geraldine Stout and Padraig Clancy Revised upload on: 8 July 2018

This remains an important historical record, but the official description says the monument is no longer visible or has been destroyed.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
