Annotated ‘Darley’s Well' on the 1837 ed. OSi six-inch map, standing 110m S of the medieval church and graveyard of Stillorgan which may have been built of an early Christian monastery. This well was named after Henry Darley, who founded a brewery in Stillorgan. The brewery stood 200m to the S of the well. The well stands on land formerly owned by the Darley family.
