What is recorded here

This small towerhouse was located on the former entrance to the village of Tallaght from Dublin. It was demolished in 1952. In 1898 the lower half of the tower was still standing (L 4.1m; Wth 3.6m; T 1.05m). The entrance in the SE led into a partly vaulted ground floor (Mc Dix 1898, 40, 157). The base of the tower was all that remained in 1905 (Ball 1905, 3). There are no visible remains t ground level. Compiled by Geraldine Stout Date of upolad: 25th April 2012
