What is recorded here

Friar's Walk was a raised walkway running north to south in the garden of the former Bishop's Palace. It was tree lined, with a number of very old yew trees and more recently planted (pre-1830s) with elm (O'Curry 1838, 31-2). The precise location of the monument is unknown. Compiled by Geraldine Stout

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.

The map shows the centre of the officially named townland area, not the monument. The government record does not identify the exact monument point.
