Located along Castle Avenue. At the site is a very decorative doorway with an inscription ' Brian Boroimhe's well' with a water dispenser inserted. This is the well where according to local tradition the Irish chiefs are said to have refreshed themselves during the Battle of Clontarf (Ryan 1938, 40-1; O'Gorman 1879, 80, 169).
