Late 17th-century armorial plaque in the lobby of the tower of St James' Parish Church (DU018-020346-) described in the Urban Survey of Dublin City as follows; 'Mark Ranford. 1693. In the tower lobby. Mural plaque with achievement of arms and inscription below: THIS MONUMENT ERECTED BY MARK RANFORD OF THE CITY OF' DUBLIN ALDERMAN WHERE IN' THE VAULT LIETH THE BODIES OF 5 OF HIS CHILDREN ALSO THE BODY OF ALDER'MAN GILES MEE WHO DEPARTED THE 18 DAY OF JUNE 1691 AGED 63 YEARS IN THE YEAR HE WAS THEN LORD MAYER OF THIS CITY OF DUBLIN AND ALSO THE' BODY OF Mrs MARK RANFORD WIFE TO ALDERMan' MARK RANFORD WHO DEPARTED THIS LIFE THE 11th DAY OF NOVEMBER 1693 AGED 36 YEARS' (Bradley & King 1987, Vol. 2, 114).
