Pre-development testing in 2002 at 52-6 Strand Street Great/Byrne Lane revealed a timber riverside revetment. The timber structure appear to be back-braced and consisted of wide timber boardsheld in place on a series of scarf-jointed base plates. The structure was thought to be short-lived (C. Walsh 2004, 157).
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
