What is recorded here

Archaeological monitoring of a foundation trench at 4-5 High Street revealed evidence for 11th to mid 13th century activity (Murtagh 1989, 23-4). Features included a cesspit and post and wattle structure. Amongst the finds were bronze cloak pins, combs, knives, spearheads and nails. The pottery included wares from Dublin and SW of England.

The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
