The Lord Chancellor Eustace's house in Dame Street was pulled down in 1782. It was built c. 1665 (Walsh, P (1973, 62, 74). It was described as abrick building, 'The front was most uncommonly ornamented with regular pilasters between the windows, from the capitals of which an arch was carried over each window, and in the void space formed by the turn of the arch, were oval stones, the only ones to be seen in the building', 'half the front was several feet further back than the line of the street, which made it appear as if it was a wing'. No visible surface trace.
The monument record does not grant public access. Check the route and ask the landowner before entering private land.
