Before 1200 the King's Exchange and Royal Mount was located on the SW side of Castle Street (Gilbert 1854-9, I, 1). In 1338 Edward III ordered that dies for coining pence should be transported to the Kings Exchange in Dublin (Gilbert 1854-9, 1, 2; FMD map 1978, 28; Clarke 2002, 23). There are no visible surface remains.
