What is recorded here

The Civil survey (1654-6) mentions a mill at Finglas Bridge (Simington 1945, 140-1). Seventeenth century depositions mention a William Baily who was driven from his mill at Finglas Bridge (Ball 1920, 94-5). The 1837 OS 6-inch map shows a paper mill probably on the site of this 17th century mill. A factory now occupies the site. Compiledby: Geraldine Stout Date of upload: 27 September 2011
