Rose Hill house was built by Sir Edward Lovett Pearse (1699-1733) or one of his followers. The house contains many of the Palladian architectural features associated with this group. It includes an octagonal reception hall, bowed staircase and a pair of lunette windows under the roof gable (Finglas Environmental Heritage Project 1991, 56-7).
