There is a mound marked on the OS 6 inch map (1827 edition). The site was on a hill overlooking Seamount House and the sea. Test excavation (Licence no. 06E0609) was undertaken in the vicinity of the mound site in advance of drainage insertion. The area had been disturbed by quarrying works and subsequent back-filling. The mound site was not discovered during the course of testing. Local informants indicated that the area had been dug out some time in the past. No visible remains.
