Human remains exposed by coastal erosion in 1991 on the W side of Lambay Island, c. 110m to the NW of the chapel. These consisted of the partial remains of a single extended skeleton, oriented NW/SE with the head to the NW (O'Floinn, 1992, 16). In the area of the lower stomach a large peice of mortar and many snail sheels were found. Bone samples produced a calibrated date of 1470-1665. The discovery of other human bone at the site indicates that this was probably a cemetery (Cahill & Sikora 2011, 238-247).
